Why did you choose this particular business/industry?
“I chose nutrition because of my son. All I wanted to do was heal him. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis and Ileitis about 12 years ago. The doctor put him on a medication that within a week was making my son’s symptoms worse. The doctor insisted it was the disease and my son insisted it was the medicine. I remember being torn – not knowing what to do. The expert is telling me one thing but my son was begging me to listen to him and thankfully, I did because he was right! It made me question what else I didn’t know and led me on my quest to help him.
I never intended on starting a business. But as I went through my masters and certification and incorporated what I learned into our lives I noticed that not only was he healing, but I was healing as well. I had compartmentalized my own health issues because no one ever said that there was something wrong with me or that I wasn’t healthy. Yet I had hypoglycemia, eczema, IBS, constant sinus and strep infections, migraines (which I had even gotten botox shots for!), aches and pains and a pituitary adenoma which messed up my hormones. I also had no energy, couldn’t lose weight and was told you’re just getting older, there’s nothing you can do. But I knew there had to be more to it. My body had been sending me signals for years that I was ignoring because I didn’t understand how to connect the dots or that I should. I can’t even imagine where we’d be right now if we hadn’t received this wake up call.
People started asking me for help and I never looked back. In addition to working with clients virtually via zoom, doing workshops, programs and events, I also love talking at companies. I bring wellness to their employees with tools to decrease stress and anxiety, increase energy, be more productive and find joy in their every day lives.
My son’s diagnosis was a blessing in disguise that has changed our lives and our health and my passion is to empower you to be your best self in a healthy body!”
Who is your ideal client?
“My ideal clients are women over 35 who are overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted – all the time. They exercise and eat well but can’t lose weight. Their joints ache and they feel as though something is off but they just can’t put their finger on it. They are starting to go through peri-menopause and their lives are a roller coaster of emotion. Everyone is pulling them in different directions and they have no oxygen left for themselves.
They’ve tried every traditional modality without success. They’ve even been told it is in their head and they’re fed up and frustrated. They want answers! This is when reach out to me. They are ready to get serious about their health. They are ready to break through conventional wisdom and cookie cutter solutions, and create a roadmap that is right for them.”
What would your clients say about you?
“My clients say I’ve changed their lives and their stomachs, helped them avoid medication, have more energy, decrease stress, sleep better and feel more joy. They also have said that I’m smart, sincere, real, motivational, dedicated, a good listener, accessible and non judgmental.”
What do you love about your life?
“I love that I get to wake up every day and know that I am empowering women to become their own health advocates and healing their bodies.
I love that I change lives.
I love that I get to design my life, live on purpose.
I love the outdoors and travel or just chill out binge watching Netflix.
I love my family and friends and the support we give each other.
I love my kids. I am so blessed to have 3 amazing young adults and I love how we’ve gone on this journey together; how we’ve learned, cried, laughed and grown together, how we’ve stood in vulnerability and have each other’s backs with love and no judgement.
I love the people that I am meeting who I learn from, look up to and collaborate with. We are just getting started. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that we are here for a greater purpose and this is just the beginning.”
