Deborah guides, supports and empowers clients and/or groups to improve the quality of their lives. They work together to change their relationship with food and to make healthy food choices as well as develop techniques (mindfulness, meditation, movement) to manage stress and anxiety and enhance physical and emotional wellbeing.

Why did you choose this particular business/industry?

“My work chose me. 30-some years ago, I was newly sober and began practicing yoga and meditation. It was the early 80’s and I was afraid I would get an HIV diagnosis. I learned about macrobiotics, the connection of food and health, made drastic changes in my diet and lifestyle, and eventually became a holistic health counselor, yoga/meditation teacher. I’m grateful to do work that feels like a privilege to me.”

Who is your ideal client?

“Anyone who needs/wants guidance and support to choose to eat foods that provide the maximum of nutrients while supporting the body’s immune system, along with body-mind practices to be present, aware and reduce stress and anxiety. I work with people with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases to create diet and lifestyle changes, as well as private therapeutic yoga for clients with Parkinson’s, MS, arthritis and anyone with physical limitations. I offer group mindfulness/meditation practices to businesses.”

What would your clients say about you?

“Deborah is the real deal, she walks her talk. She’s a great listener. A compassionate cheerleader, encouraging and supportive.”

What do you love about your life?

“I love that I mostly feel happy, joyous and free… Expansive and adventurous. That I live with curiosity and commitment to continue to grow and change. The gift of my beloved, unique, talented, ‘outside of the box’ three young adult daughters. Being a part of a community with spirited friends. That I know in this moment all is well.”
