Congratulations to our 2017-2018 award winners!

It was a beautiful summer night, too hot to be outside but perfect for a cocktail celebration indoors at the Evening of Excellence sponsored by UPS! Guests’ eyes lit up when they entered the magnificently designed lobby of the Porcelanosa building on Fifth Avenue and 25th Street, with it’s 3-story windows and open terrace leading to the lower level where the party was held.

Volunteers, the youngest of which was the daughter of a board member, greeted guests at the check-in point and directed them downstairs. Volunteers in the party area handed out bubbly (red or white) and wine from Green Grape Wines and Spirits, a woman owned shop in Brooklyn. The center counter was overflowing with delicious hors o’dourves from Food Trends, a local, woman owned caterer.

After networking and mingling for a bit it was time to recognize the outstanding members from our 2017-2018 year as well as officiate new members of the board for the 2018-2019 year.

“Joining NAWBO has been a game-changer for me in my new business.  When I joined, my business was 1 month old and since joining, I have felt a sense of community, a great support system and have networked with amazing women!  I have also connected with several of my current clients through NAWBO!  I love this organization and I look forward to being a member and serving the community for years to come!” ~ Merrilyn Gibbs, Owner, Errands 4 Hire
